Choosing Foundation
There are two key aspects of foundation to keep in mind when choosing which foundation will be best-suited for your face: the formula and the tone. Below is a guide to help you choose the formula that is best for your skin.

For Oily Skin
If your face is oily, you will want to choose a foundation that is created to absorb the oil. Powder and/or compact foundations, like Couleur Caramel Compact Stick Foundation, Jane Iredale PurePressed Base, or Zuzu Dual Powder Foundation, are great choices because the finish cuts down on shine, absorbing the oil while the foundation provides great coverage. Another good choice for oily skin is Alima Pure mineral foundation or Jane Iredale Amazing Base, which contain neither oil or water, prevent oily shine, and provide excellent coverage. A good combination of liquid and mineral powder can be found in Jane Iredale's Liquid Minerals, a perfect solution for mature skin that is still oily and/or may require additional coverage.

For Dry and/or Mature Skin
Cream foundations, such as Sante foundation, Couleur Caramel Cream Foundation, and both Logona foundation & Logona Age Protection Foundation, are perfect for dry skin, as they provide a natural finish while covering age spots, sun damage, or uneven skin tone better than a tinted moisturizer or liquid foundation, and does not settle in fine lines like a powder or mineral foundation. They also provide moisture.

For Normal Skin with few, if any, blemishes
Tinted moisturizer is a great option for skin that only needs a touch of coverage to even out skin tone, or for teenagers who want a more even skin tone without looking like they are wearing makeup. It is also a great choice in the summer months when you don’t want to wear much makeup at all. It will not provide much coverage, and therefore is not the perfect choice if you have blemishes, really uneven skin tone, or rosacea. Jane Iredale's tinted moisturizer provides a fairly sheer coverage, while Logona tinted moisturizer is creamy and borders on a foundation. For all skin types Liquid foundation is considered the most universal foundation, as it provides more coverage than tinted moisturizer but less than cream foundations, and works with dry and (in most cases) oily skin. Couleur Caramel and Zuzu foundation both make excellent liquid foundation, and can be mixed with moisturizers (like Logona's) for a creamier texture. Couleur Caramel's Compact Stick Foundation is also an excellent choice for lightweight but effective coverage.
